"Each painting is a love letter to the contemporary urban landscape in and around Chicago and the North Shore. In all my work I challenge myself to capture a unique plein air inspired portrait of everyday life. I use a “retro” inspired palette to block in the shapes and employing turn-of the century glazing techniques to draw out the sense of depth, atmosphere, warmth, and shadow.
